Not too sure how sushi will settle with you now... but, if/when you can get it down, you should try TigerEye -- SOOOOOOO good! I'm a huge sushi fan and I have to say tigereye is the best I've had.

Hi Bethany, I am 14 months out and can eat sushi and drink wine. But early on, I could not tolerate rice at all, so that may be a problem for you with the sushi unless you just get the selections w/o rice. Everyone is so different when it comes to what we can and cannot eat though. As for wine, you may want to ask your doctor 1st. I did try a little after 3 months and it went right to my head. I can now drink a couple of glasses of wine over the course of an evening and that gets me all warm and fuzzy, LOL. That being said, it is all so individual, what works fine for one won't for someone else. Good luck and enjoy the holidays! Terri

Tigereye is cooked salmon and avocado, wrapped with grilled squid. It sounds gross... but it is SO good. I don't know if you've ever tried grilled squid but it tastes kind of like carmelized onions.

Bethany I ran a sushi company for 2 years. I know you can also use a rice substitute as in rice paper - similar to to egg roll, but much thinner. roll the same as with sushi, but use the thinner paper. It may be good to start with that then go the regular rice. Also, be very careful where you purchase sushi with the raw fish. Make sure you watch sushi chef making if fresh. Ask if they use fresh frozen which is the safest - you don't want any funky bacteria at this point in the game. Best of Luck - I hopefully go 12/12/05 so I will let you know how the sushi goes with me after that Tina W

Might be early. If you have to, try a small piece at home a few days before and see how it settles. Trial and error. As far as wine goes, I am fine with white, but 4 oz of red and I'm in the bag. FYI. Peter

I love Sushi, however be warned that there are a lot of calories in them I think that for 3 there are 450 calories, be careful how many you eat. I had no problems eating Sushi, but I only eat two because of the calories, try to linit how much you eat thats all!! Jannie

I was eating sashimi durning my mushy food stage, I don't like tuna fish but I do LOVE raw tuna. I sometimes now do a roll but if I do, that's all I can eat. So yummy! Jessica

I guess I'm the exception. I loved sushi, but it was over a year before I could eat it again. OMG- RICE used to make me hurl something fierce, OR give me the WORST stomach pain! So, be careful, and just try a nibble at first. I had a 1/2 glass of champagne on new years after my surgery- it went straight to my head. So, go verrrrry solw. best, Lisa C
