Well, got thru Thanksgiving . Had my Turkey wing, tablespoon of sweet potato's,green bean casserole, stuffing, and a ladleful of gravy to wet everything down. Had a small piece of pumpkin pie for dessert after playing a couple of games of "Apples to Apples". Great game that moves quickly and everyone in the family can play. Came home stuffed, lol, took "Molly"( my beagle) for a walk to get everything moving. Up early to plan my attack at the shopping mall. Made my list of stores and what I need to pick up. Good Luck out there today! It's going to be . Julio

Hi Julio, I also survived my T-day. I had a little bit of everything with gravy to moisten it. I made the desserts that were low fat/no sugar & as low in carb as possible. They came out yummy & my mom who is a diabetic charfed them up. Graham cracker cake & a pumpkin mouse pie that was to die for! (Both were no-cooking & if anyone wants the recipe for the graham cracker cake give me a holler.) I do feel like I "over ate" a little (compared to what I normally have during a day) but made wiser choices than I would have last year at this time. (Fruit instead of pie, turkey instead of more mashed potatoes) So for me that was a victory. Today is a new day & I'm back on track. I'm not attempting "black Friday" for Christmas shopping but I am picking up a new car today that I'm very excited about.. a Dodge Magnum...whoot whoot! Merry Christmas to me! LOL! On a BIG & HAPPY personal note...I hit the Century Club! 105lbs gone! I'm down to 175 pounds...& feel over all fantastic! I've gone from a size 26/28 in shirts/bottoms and now I'm a 12/14 in bottoms & L-XL in tops. I never would have thought that I would be in "normal sizes" at this point in my life. To have my health, being able to play with my son, and live my life the way that I have always wanted to, but couldn't....These things I'm VERY Thankful for. The WLS is a true blessing for those of us who had given up hope. I have so much to be thankful for. Enjoy your weekend all, Mickey

I had a pretty good turkey day too. Went out for a walk with the girls -- after watching the parade. Then went to the inlaws for big holiday dinner. Poor nephew lost his last high school football game -- he was heartbroken, but he scored both of the only TD's Ledyard made! So bitter-sweet victory for him. Anyway dinner was really good. For the first time I tried collard greens -- something I would have never made room for pre surgery. I only had eyes for carbs..lol... anyway the greens were delish! I had a piece of turkey a table spoon of stuffing & mashed potatos and green beans. And of course the tell tale sign of a WLS patient--- a ladel of gravy to make it all go down smooth --- too funny. Anyway I topped it off with a sliver of pumkin pie and was so satisfied. I haven't seen some of the relatives since last thanksgiving and wasn't recognized by a couple of them. They were shocked! That was too fun. One can never get tired of that reaction. So we are off to hunt for our Christmas tree today and decorate the house. Hubby likes to have his own leftovers, so believe it or not, I am cooking a turkey today! I am impressed that some of you are braving the crowds today on black friday. I just finished shopping for the kids --- online! Just couldn't face the insanity in the stores. Whatever works, right!! Have a great day everyone. Terri

Hey buddy, I survived the day too. Just little spoonfuls of various things and a tiny piece of pumpkin pie. I was so proud of myself. I wasn't overstuffed or tired or even sick. It felt wonderful. Did some shopping the night before Thanksgiving. It was great, nobody was there, they had alot of sales and I got alot accomplished. Going out again today to finish up. I love Christmas, did all my decorating yesterday, today Tom is putting out our lights and reindeer with little trees around it. This is my favorite time of the year. I am like alittle kid. Well have a great rest of the weekend. God Bless and congrats on doing so great on Thanksgiving. Hugs KimC

Yeah, this is my second Turkey Day year. and it gets easier. I ate everything that I wanted, but could eat so little it did no damage. This was the best Thanksgiving that I have had in 19 years, and the food was great. I have learned that I can eat anything, but in moderation. I did try and drink a milkshake.. CAN YOU SAY DUMB THING TO DO?? I never thought that I could experience pain like that, I just got into a fetal position. so I know that SUGAR is something that I am going to avoid. Now I have to get through Christmas which will be easy. Hope that all had a great Holiday and I look forward to getting back to the group! Jannie
