Hi Everyone,

I am 4 days away from having lap band surgery with Dr Barba.  I am looking forward to starting my journey.  Right now, I think I have prepared well, however, the last minute doubts about if I have prepared as much as I could have are starting to sneak in.

I was wondering if anyone has any last minute words of wisdom.

Thanks,
Robin

Hi Robin,
You will do great!  I got some last minute jitters, too.  I think it's only normal!  Yes, I was worried about the surgery, but I think I was far more worried about whether or not the surgery would work, would I feel the band, etc?  4 months later I can honestly say that it is BY FAR the best thing I have ever done for myself.  I have lost about 43 pounds and I feel 1000 times better!

My big advice would be to have patience!  First, just concentrate on heeling and getting your band settled.  The weight will come off and you start to notice so many changes.  But, the weight doesn't pour off like some other procedures.

Feel free to ask any other questions you might have this weekend and be sure to et us know how you are feeling next week!  I'll be sure to check the CT board a few times this weekend, just in case.

Enjoy the beautiful weekend and look forward to your exciting new journey!

Hi Robin,

I don't think it matters which prcedure you are going to have ....it comes with pre jitters. I'm nervous about the whole thing (having rny) and I don't even have a date yet. As with all things,  be patient, be honest, and give it your all. Best of luck.............You will be fine and will do great on your journey!!

 Robin,

I wish you much success on your journey,  I think we all have last minute doubts/nerves. Be sure to follow your doctors plan, take your vitamins and get in your protein and fluid. It will be heard at first, but it does get easier.

Good Luck.
