Questions to ask Debbie
Help! I am 7 months out and I have an Dr's appt on Friday. (It will be with Debbie, his wife) Whenever I am in the doctor's office I always sit there and then I'm out in 5 minutes, not gaining much from the experience. I have some questions I need to ask about some recent bloodwork (where they took my b12, iron and other vitamin levels) that I took but what I need from you good people is...what usually happens at your appts? What questions do you ask? What tests have they given you? I have had very little contact with my surgeon or his office since surgery so even the most basic topic may not have been covered... so please suggest it! Thanks everyone!

I have Dr. Barajas and I see her every time I am there for my appointments. The nurse always takes my pressure, and weighs me and has me fill out my sheet for what I have been doing for exercise and eating. Then the surgeon comes in, we talk about how I have been doing, she checks my tummy and incisions then asks if I have had any problems or have any questions.
I am now 10 months out going every three months. She confers with my PCP who Debby Valin works for Dr. Gottiparthy, he did my blood and sent her copies of it already when I had my physical. So far so good with everyone communicating.
I would mention this to them and ask why you don't have the opportunity to meet with him directly. That seems alittle strange. Everyone usually meets with their surgeon when going for followups. He may have different ways of doing things, but he should really be talking with you and checking you his wife was not your surgeon.
