Peter & Joanne Are OK

Hi, All! As some of you may know, Peter and Joanne Ligas have been in Cancun since Wed. of last week (just in time to be evacuated from their hotel the next day, before Wilma arrived). This was where they decided to spend their vacation once they couldn't go to their original destination -- New Orleans! (Remind me to never go on vacation with them...at least not one that they've planned.) They were supposed to have returned on Tues., but haven't been able to get out. Peter called me last night, but got my voice mail, so I didn't get to talk to him, but he did say that he wanted me to post here that they are "alive and doing well...well, doing." He said it's been a disaster from start to finish, but they were hoping to get a rescue flight out today to anywhere in the U.S. Then they could fight for a flight home. I've since heard that they have boarding passes for a flight to Charlotte, N.C. today and will hope to be on a flight to Hartford, Boston or New York arriving sometime tonight. If they make it to either or both of the support group meetings at Middlesex next week, I'm sure we'll hear some interesting stories about their experiences over dinner afterward. I didn't realize that Peter and Joanne were hurricane storm chasers Debby! Man! What bad luck. Glad to hear they are alright and on their way home. Thanks for sharing the good news. Terri

Well if they are at the support group Monday- I am NOT sitting near them.

Won't be there Monday... halloween. We get visited by all the kids in town (ok it FEELS like all the kids in town) becauuse they know what we own. You're save this month Peter

I am so glad to hear they are safe and ok. When I finally get the chance to meet Peter I can't wait to ask him where to next. Hugs KimC
