GETTING DISCOURAGED!!!
Hey all,
I am really getting upset. For the past couple of months now I can seem to lose anything. I keep going up and down with 5lbs or so. Today it looks like I gained it all back. I am trying so hard to get out of the 220s and I can't seem to get there.
I was doing great for the past few months and then all of a sudden I came to a halt. I know I should not get upset, but I don't want to gain any weight back, it scares me so much.
I am doing what I am suppose to and sometimes there are days I am not hungry at all. I have been following my protein intake, and I am exercising religiously. What more should I be doing?????
HELP I AM GETTING REALLY SCARED ABOUT THIS!!!
Thanks for listening everybody.

Hi Kimmie,
Let me give you a big hug!
We all go through these plateaus.....even the short ones seem like they never end.
Just make sure you're not grazing.....that sometimes can be the culprit.
If that's not the case, then try to up the intensity of your exercise. Your body may be used to that exercise...so it may help to vary the intensity. For instance, walk at a normal pace for 5 minutes, then walk fast for 2 or 3 minutes, then back to normal pace for 5 minutes etc.
My trainer said you should switch the exercise you are doing every six weeks. I'm not sure if you go to the gym or not....(you can join planet fitness for $10/month)
If you are walking outside, then try switching to aerobic tapes ( if you need them let me know, I have plenty...and I live close enough to be able to meet you somewhere and give you them)
Hopefully this will help a little.
Hang in there kiddo...it'll come off.
Take care,
Kelly
Hey as you can see you are not alone!! I had the same problem and I am losing less than others as I did not have but 65 pounds to lose. But since the surgery, I had a long plateau and got real depressed and protein barred myself to death. I had to change my eating habits, and then finally after about 5 months the weight is dropping again. Keep up the good work, and if you NEVER lose another pound, look how far you came. Gt off the scale and go by how you feel and how your clothes fit. In time, the clock will start to shed the pounds, that you can depend on. Look at all of the folks on here and we all went through the same thing!!
Good Luck!! Throw away the scale!

Kim,
I had been going through a timeframe of about 3 weeks or so where i was playing with the same 4 lbs...back and forth...and it just happened when I was 1/2 pound shy of 100 pounds lost...For me it was a combination of things, but one of the changes I made that helped was...I completely changed what I was eating..I had gotten into a rut of always having the same protein drink for breakfast and always having the same oatmeal for lunch....I changed what I was eating, and upped my protein a bit, and I have lost the 1/2 lb plus 2 1/2 more over the last two days...Maybe it isn't that you are doing anything wrong, maybe you too have found what works for you and a sticking to it a bit too closely???
Just an Idea...But please don't get discouraged...you have been such a support and inspiration to so many of us...I hate to see you discouraged.. Remember that our bodies need a break from these drastic changes, and sometimes the weightloss stops for a while while our bodies and our brains catch up...Knowing that doesn't make it any easier while you are in the middle of a plateau, but You have done so well, give yourself a break...
Love, Dorota
Hey Dorota,
Its nice to finally see a picture of you.. Your gorgeous. Thanks so much for always saying such kind things to me. I really appreciate your support like everyone elses.
I am really trying not to lose it. I am just a little scared of slipping and ending up back where I started. I don't ever want to go there again.
Thanks again for your support and your friendship.

Hi Kim, Don't Get discouraged! It's happenning to me too. Not sure if its the change in the weather or what but do know as far as we have gotten , we connot give up! Just have to throw our scales in a closet and just keep doing what we know works, Protien, water, excersize. You have come a long way and whenever it's looking a bit rough just remember what it felt like riding those rides with your kids! We're going to make it! So, Just keep up the battle and know you have a bunch of us in the same boat ready to cheer you along! Take care,
Julio

My dearly friend,
First of all, Kelly is right about joining the gym for yourself and maybe you and Kelly go to gym together during Winter time to do exercise increase which burn calories and will help your weight lower but we all do have plateaus and it stucks for a while but keep stick with your tools like eat right foods, exercise, use this online support and go to support group with other people then your weight won't regian back! I promise you if you use your tools.... I want your weight scale and mail it to me!!! Because it upsets you when you see how much you weights on scale. Did you try to buy smaller pant to try on it often than go weight yourself?
Hang in There and we are here to support you !
