Well I just found out my surgery was approved and I go on April 27th.  I have to admit that I am a little nervous, but really excited.

Good luck! It's only a few weeks that you have to wait. I got my date in Nov. for a Jan surgery. It was almost two months to the day later. My choice but still a long wait. Don't forget to take breath spray and chap stick. Those were a life saver for me the first few days.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

Thank you for the advice I had heard about the chap stick but never the breath spray makes sense though.

Congratulations! It is normal to feel a little nervous. You are going to have surgery, but this surgery will change your life. Use your new tool as intended and follow your doctors plan and seek out support here and at support groups. You will do fine and you will be so excited when you start seeing that weight drop off and all the positive changes that you will experience along your journey after WLS.

Wishing you all the best.

Congratulations on your date.
Like everyone says it is normal to be nervous. I put  myself in a frame of mind, that I wanted this soooo bad and I needed this surgery to live a normal life, that I was actually happy when they wheeled me into surgery!!  It worked. My surgery was great with no problems. Went back to work in 2 weeks, lost 135 pounds, and in Nov.  had my Tummy tuck with the same doctor, who I love!!
I have complete trust in him. As long as you follow his directions and don't push eating something your not supposed to, you will be fine. Remember, your insides take longer to heal, than the outside. You need to baby your pouch and introduce foods slowy. You will be fine. Be excited!!!! I am excited for you!! You will be a whole new person, you will enjoy your life so much more. Life is precious, we all should enjoy it!
Best of Luck to you!
Hugs,
Sarah

Thank you for the encouragement.  I love Dr. Barba too.  He is great.  I am trying to keep in mind why I am doing it and it seems to be working for the most part.  I look at it as its my new begining.

Again thank you
