Help! Anyone with Medicare through Healthnet Smartchoice??

Hi - I currently have original Medicare and Medicaid for my supplemental insurance. But I have been told by Dr Aranow's office that they don't accept Medicaid. I can transfer my Medicare to what's called a Medicare Advantage Plan, which is basically using ONE insurance for both Medicare and supplemental coverage. But before I do, I was hoping someone out there might have this plan already and let me know if they covered their surgery. Dr Aranow IS listed as a provider for Healthnet, but there are so many different plans, it's REALLY hard to figure out which is which, etc. Anyone who can help me in any way would be greatly appreciated. I am going for the first "informational" presentation a Middlesex on 11/15, so I hope I can figure out this insurance mess soon. Thanks!

Hi Patrique, I want to say Hi and want to let you know that Dr Aranow is an excellent doctor and you are in very good hands from him but one thing about him is waiting too long for your apt to see him so bring your book with you to read while you are waiting. We (Dr Aranow's patients) knows about this WINK! I hope someone from this message board helps you with medicare issue mabye our "Santa Claus" Peter can help you with this since he knows alot of insurance issues than me PETER WHERE ARE YOU?? Hello, I just wanted to tell you that I have Medicaid and I had Blue care family plan but Dr Aranow doesn't accept that so I switched to helth net healthy options and he took it and I am not 5 weeks out so they should cover it for you also. Hope I was of some help. Lisa
