10 pounds!!
Hi Colleen,
I believe that it's 10 lbs before the day of surgery...though, they did not weigh me when I got to the hospital. BUT, if Dr Aranow (after reading Elina's reports) feels you've not been compliant with the pre op diet, he "will" make you get on the scale in the pre op area.
Once ins is submitted, you should have lost your ten lbs anyways, because surgery is sometimes a week later (if your ins approves quickly) I had ten days from approval to surgery.
Some people have to lose more, if it's 10 lbs he told you to lose, than, that's how much you have to lose.

Hi Colleen
I had to lose the weight before lois would submit to the insurance company actually they wanted me to lose it before I saw elaina but I didn't so then I got serious and lost it in 1 week. Lois wouldn't submit to the insurance co. til elaina told her I lost the weight.
Dr. A might weigh you the day of surgery although he didn't me but he did my friend, so you have to work hard on keeping it off until you have the surgery he has turned pateints away for gaining 1 pound before surgery.
