Someone Called Me Skinny!!!!!!!!!

I never thought I would ever hear that. Especially at 279 pounds..but when you go from 356 last February I guess it looks that way. I wore a new pair of jeans to work today. At our school we pay to wear jeans on Friday and help out the United Way. Three people stopped me and said "wow..you look skinny" or "I didn't know it was you". Other than the fact that I'll never take these jeans off again...it felt great. I am in size 44 pants. The last time I wore size 42 was in high school. I can't wait to get there. I also was able to shop at Eddie Bauer and Haggar at the outlets the other day. Another great day. I bought a stationary bike and will start to get in some regular exercise. So far so good. For anyone out there wondering if this surgery is the right thing to do....GO FOR IT!! Hope everyone else is having a great day! Adam

Congratulations Adam...don't ya just love that word?? The other day I asked a patient to move on to her side...she was about the size I was before surgery...She said "you will have to give me a little time...I am not as "tiny" as you"....little did she know...a year ago...I WAS her! Those little compliments keep us all going! Keep up the good work Adam! Joanie

I think I always did..but there is a line I cannot use these days. I do ultrasound and the larger the patient the harder the scan. Sometimes its impossible to get an image. I used to say..."I am having a hard time...large people like US...are harder to scan....techs have the same problem with me" In a way-it makes me feel badly I cannot relate that to them anymore. Although--something new has taken its place. I can spot an open RNY scar a mile away...and always ask about surgery. As you know we all love to talk to others who have walked in our shoes. Its my own little support session at work! JOanie
