Hi Chrissy I can understand how hard to losing weight because we all have been there before. Try not eat any Carbs stuffs and force meats, vegetables and fruit . Try to take for a long walk or have buddy walk to keep you up for exercise. Don t give up and you are almost there to have this surgery. Call your friends or fmaily if you feel like to eat more foods to keep your mind off to not eat more than three meals per day. Hang in there! We are rooting for you Kathy K

Thank you Kathy. Your suggestions are great, and I am pretty much doing that now. I guess I just have to push more. Maybe add even more exercise to my routine. Thank you again!

Hey Chrissy, Some of us are just slower losers than others. Just keep on doing what you are doing and the weight will come off. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. If you aren't already, try writing down what you eat. I find that helpful. Take care and have a good weekend! Kelly

Hi Chrissy, those pre-op 10 lbs. were the hardest I've ever had to lose in my life!!! Elina out me on a diet resembling South Beach. I was able to lose 10 lbs but it was a struggle! I started walking and making sure to get in at least 64 oz of water per day. You'll get there and we are all waiting for you on the losing side!! Love ~Robin 285/226/150

Hi, PROTEIN, PROTEIN, and more PROTEIN...it's the only way that you're gonna lose the weight that Dr A wants you to lose. I lost almost 20 lbs and he wanted me to lose 10. I cut out virtually all "bad" carbs all summer long and once my body got used to not having them, I didn't crave them. I ate lean meats...chicken on the grill, hamburger with out the bun, steaks, lower fat and salt deli meats. I did lots of salads with cheese (Cabots 50% light) and deli meats in them and munched on those in the evenings and afternoons when I wanted something crunchy. I used the low carb italian dressing by Ken's steakhouse. And another thing...drink LOTS of water every day. and WALK a lot. It wasn't until I started to walk a lot, did I lose more. And here I am a week out of surgery and feeling pretty good. They always say to walk a lot and drink a lot before surgery...and it's paying off for me. I walked half a mile yesterday and so far today a quarter mile. Hang in there...you may be on a plateau and need to increase what you're eating this week. Have an extra serving of meat/protein today and tomorrow and the next day. Sneak in a protein shake, etc. Something to boost the protein levels. That may work to your advantage. Paula

Chrissy That weight was the hardest weight I ever had to lose! WW is good...Dr A suggested South Beach to me..as it was most like the post op diet. Good luck to you...you can do this! Joanie

Chrissy - I totally hear ya! I thought that losing the preop weight was the PITS!! After following a diet strict for 3 weeks, I had only lost 1 pound so I thought I'd NEVER do it. What I did was I loaded my freezer with premade foods (lean cuisines, etc.) and ONLY ate what was premade. That way, I couldn't fudge portions at all. My family did their own thing until I lost my weight and could cook again. Hope that helps! Tammy

Thank you all for your posts. I am feeling a little better today. I was able to put a pair of jeans on and feel comfortable. And they were very snug a few weeks ago, so I know I have made some progress. I just need to keep it up and hope I make the 10lb mark in a reasonable amount of time. Thank you again for all your help! ~Chrissy
