Hi All, Just wanted to post to let you all know that, yes, I'm still alive and have made it one week post op! It's been a tough week, but it's a lot better this week than it was last week! Surgery went without incident and hospital stay was without its bumps, but overall was ok. Came home on Sat and it's been a great healing so far. Everyday I feel stronger, the incision is less painful and I can feel my insides are healing. I'm eating/sipping and getting my protein in. Unjury unflavored powder into almost everything I'm eating is saving me. I put it in my soup, my yougurt drink, my egg drop soup, etc. I'm learning that my new "full" feeling is sometimes a sharp pain in between the breasts, or is just a "I can't get in another bite" feeling. I've never felt so stuffed that I felt sick though, and I'm not complaining. I have a pain on the left side of my stomach. It's probably where my "y" connection is made (I'm not sure) but it's there and it is healing...I think this is the most bothersome of everything that's going on in there. I've cut down big time on pain meds and only took one today. I'm still sleeping in the recliner in the finished basement because the bed is just TOO flat right now. I hate to sleep on my back, but I have to do what I have to do. I've been sleeping like a baby down there. Well, that's enough for now...will write when I have more to say. thanks for all of your well wishes over the past week. paula

Good for you Paula! Sounds like your doing it right. Just take it easy and you will be fine. You are going to be so happily surprized at how fast your going to be shrinking out of your clothes. I went thru all my "Thin" clothes in the first 5 months. Take care and good luck on your journey. Be Well, Julio

Good Luck to you Paula--now that you are on the losing side. Enjoy the ride its a wonderful one! Don't forget to do some walking--even if its around the house or up the street. I remember walking up the street 1/4 mile...stopping at a friends..and having my husband pick me up...one week post op. I did this three times a day and by the end of the second week post up I was walking home myself! Joanie

Hey Paula, Glad to hear you're surgery went ok. I slept in the recliner for about 3 weeks. I kept trying the bed, but, for me, it wasn't comfortable to sleep. I am a side sleeper, and sleeping on my side made my belly pull too much. Once I was able to sleep in bed, a thin pillow to support my belly helped me alot. Take care and welcome to losing side! Kelly
