More emotions
I talked to my PCP, Dr. Daniel Novak, the best doctor in the world on Thursday night. He called to let me know that he had finished writing my letter of medical necessity and had all of the documentation to back up the dieting I have tried and the physical problems that prevented me from getting exercise, etc. He said that all of this information will be faxed to Dr. A's office today, and then Lois can submit to insurance.
I had made a decision that I was going to wait until after I get back from my trip to Vegas in November to have my surgery. I don't want to pu**** and not feel well enough to go. But this weekend, I was looking at some before and after pictures on this site - and I am AMAZED at these.
Then I went out and did some shopping - really window shopping - because I decided I would not buy any more clothes until I really lose weight. I did go down a size, which is awesome, but not enough to buy new cothes..I have to dig out some old clothes - not fun.
I saw a full length wool coat at a Good Will store today and it fit..it really buttoned! I did not buy it because it was itchy and I hope I will not need to wear a 2X when it really gets cold!
I want to be on the losers side SO badly...
I am also concerned that I won't be able to keep the weight off that I have already lost. I lost 28, and I have been weighing myself weekly when I go to Curves to make sure that I keep the weight off. But I have been cheating on my diet...not bad...but it is a sign that I could blow it all if I am not VERY careful
. I work so much better under pressure - my pressure was having to lose 20 pounds before I could have the surgery - and I did it +8...but I have only lost 1 more pound since then. I need to be dieting seriously - no "slip offs". I am eating better - but not to the extreme I was before my appt with Elina.
More emotional roller-coaster riding!
struggle
I will call Dr. A's office tomorrow and get some more facts about flying/travelling after surgery...
I WANT IT TO BE OVER AND ON THE OTHER SIDE - THAT OF THE LOSER'S!

Hey Nancy:
You will do fine sweetie, take it day by day and be positive, I know its really tough waiting for all the paperwork and processes to go through. Dr. A's office from what I have heard is wonderful. I met him at the walk and he seems so kind and compasionate towards his patients.
Your in my thoughts and prayers through all of this, and like all of us your part of a wonderful family now and we are all here for you. Your journey to the losing side will begin shortly and you will be so happy when it begins.
Have a wonderful time in Vegas and enjoy yourself, don't worry about anything. When you get home it will all begin and you will be on the losing side.
Stay positive and God Bless.
Hugs
KimC

I was in the same boat as you last year! I had a trip planned to Vegas mid October. I had my surgery when I returned. I enjoyed the trip....but the plane ride was uncomfortable.
I was told you had to wait a month after surgery in order to travel....I'm not sure if that varies dr. to dr.
Honestly you don't want to be in the pureed food state while traveling anyways.
Enjoy your trip to Vegas and have the surgery afterwards!
Take care,
Kelly

Hi
I started to exercise two weeks after my surgery with Dr Aranow's approved but remember everybody is different to feel after surgery. Some people feel so tired and no engery at all... some people are feeling fine and great... which it was me! You will be fine to fly/travel after three weeks after surgery but you cannot eat much foods during travel so bring your protein fodos with you so you can eat that kind of stuff during travel/ Fly. Good luck!
