Consigment Shopping....New Pic

For the past year consignment shopping has become my passion, a full bag of clothes for less then 30 dollars is always a triumph.  During the month of February, my favourite consignment shop in East Windsor CT, Uptown Consignments, had dollar days, where they had a big table filled with clothes all priced at $1.  I have a new pic today showing the fully lined leather pants I got for $1, they are so soft and fit perfectly, I was thrilled.  The jacket in the picture I bought from their sister store in Rocky Hill a few months ago, I don't recall the price, but it was cheap or I wouldn't have bought it.  lol lol  Its so much fun shopping now because I can buy unique stuff and not pay an arm and a leg, I wish I had found these stores when I first started losing weight.

I posted this on the main board as I spend 99% of my time online there, but I thought I would post this over on CT also so I could share these great stores and we could make a list of all the great consignment stores in the state.

What's a consignment shop?

It's not a sign of weakness to seek help when you need it.
The only sign of weakness is NOT to seek the help you need.

They are stores that resell used or sometimes new clothes for a profit, you take your clothes to them and they resell them sharing part of the proceeds with you.  I have sold some of my clothes there but buy many more things because of the great prices, many pieces of clothes still have the tags hanging on them.

How high up do they go in sizes? I am on the border of "normal" and plus sizes. I can get into a 16 if it's cut right or an 18. I have wanted to stop there since we go past when we go to and from the mall.

They have all sizes including plus and childrens.  Its a great family run store, I have gone there for a year and the owner is great, she knows all her regular customers by name and if you are looking for something specific, you can write it down and let her know and she will keep her eye open for you.

Give it a try.

There is a plus size consignment store in Waterbury called "Goddess Consignments." They only carry plus size clothes. It's at 767 Wolcott St.; phone # 203-753-0042; www.goddessplus.com. It has been a lifesaver for me.
