OT: Happy to be done

Yay, I just finished my final paper for the current class. In the spirit of that, here is a "mental problem" for all of you: There is a student in class. Two days ago she was 9. Next year she will be 12. What is her birthday and what day is it today for this to be true? Hint: it has nothing to do with leap year.

ok here is my guess Today would be January 1st. her birthday would be Dec. 30th. Dec. 30th is 2 days before Jan 1 so her birthday would be Dec 31. How close Am I?

Ok, is this one of those questions where its like, Today is Thursday and her birthday was Tuesday (2 days ago) , you just ignore the rest of the information thats being given? If not, I'll try again. I love brain teasers!

Dang! I will have to increase the diffuculty... In what context are these math problems true? 11 + 2 = 1 1 + 1 = 10 2 + 2 = 5 (each problem has a different reason/situation when it is "correct")

For 11+2 = 1 your answer works. Also 11am + 2 hours is 1 pm. Correct on 1 + 1 = 10 (Binary) The third is from one of 2 contexts, one is literary, but 2+2=5 can be demonstrated in class also. Dave
