Hi.  I've been lurking for several months while I was in the process of getting approval for surgery.  Honestly I wasn't even sure I was going to go trough with it.  anyway, I've got approval and a surgery date for early April.  My surgeon is Dr. Papasavas (say that 3 times fast!) who works with Dr. Tishler in Hartford.  I've got a long intro post on my OH blog and also my thoughts about the surgeon so far.  Check it out if your curious.

So I wanted to reach out to you all and say Hi!  I'm hopeful that I'll make some good friends here and have people to share my journey with *****ally know what it's all about.

I guess that's all for now.  Take care!  Joie

Welcome Joie! Since you've been lurking you might know that I recently have decided to get revision surgery so I am going through all the emotions all over again! We will probably have surgery very close together - I've been told I'll probably be getting my RNY in May or June....

Anyway - best of luck to you on your journey - and welcome to the CT OH Forum!
Warm Regards - Tammy -

Hi Tammy!  I was reading your profile to get up to speed and it sounds like you've had quite a challenging journey.  But you've really done soooo well.  I can understand why you want to have the revision.  I spent a long time flip-flopping between band or RNY and finally decided that if I was going to go through all of this I might as well make it permanent and gut altering cause I KNOW that will power, consistency and self control are NOT my strong suits.  I know in my head what I'm getting myself into but I'm absolutely terrified that on the other side of this the reality will be much harder to deal with.  I plan on having a good therapist on speed dial!  Once I can find one that I like any way.

Ok.  Thanks for the welcome.  This is gonna be fun, fun, fun!!!

Are we related? You sound just like me and I read your profile and somethings sound like me too. I will admit I ended up skimming the end. Stupid ADD, my mind started wandering. Sad thing is I read like crazy and have to read pages over again cause the mind starts to wander. So it wasn't you. Good luck in the journey and keep posting so we know whats going on.

I just had my surgery with Dr. Tishler this past monday, i have to say i am quite pleased with the responsiviness of the practice. I cant comment with your Dr as i have only delt with Dr. Tishler but i have had a few concerns since being released (fever one night and a coughing fit and some pain this evening) and have called the night service and got a very quick call back from the oncall doctor.  Overall the group seems quite understanding and very responsive with any questions or concerns that i have had up to this point. You are in good hands and good luck. If you have any questions please feel free to get ahold of me.
Thanks
Adam
