any good protein drinks-what to have on hand at home after RNY

i only like (and frankly, like is really a generous description) the syntrax fuzzy navel. to me, it tastes exactly like tang. the good thing is you can get 100 grams of whey protein for 360 calories. my only recommendtion is that you drink it super cold, with ice...i do 2 scoops, for 50 grams each , at 180 cals per drink. but the thing is, you MUST do it! it will help you heal faster. if you know anyone who can igve you a sample, that's best. but it does taste like tang.

Good for you! I am only a month out from mine.  I found that I only liked the carnation instant breakfast.  ATkins was a close second, but they don't have re-sealable tops like the CIB does, and one carton of a shake would only last two days and I would dump the rest out. You will be using such a small amount,  don't buy too much at first.  I found the pre-made C I B (look like yoohoo bottles) at stop and shop. One, 4 pack of those will last almost the whole two week only liquid stage. 

I also had a heck of a time with the vitamins.  I had both Centrum adult liquid and chewable.  Both made me gag something fierce.  I have now been taking 3-4 flinstones per day and that is perfect for me. 

Best of luck to you.  I am so happy I had mine.  It will be one month on the 10th and I lost 30 pounds already!  Recovery is a snap.

Congragulations! i can't wait for my date to be here! i have been hearing a lot about the carnation instant breakfast being the most tolerable. i don't think i can stomach that sweet thick protein stuff now so i can just imagine after surgery! thanks for the advice on the vitamins too. i have tried the Centrum chewables before and didn't like them either. sounds like i will be following in your footsteps soon!! LOL
