Hello everyone, I just wanted to say thank you for all of you who send your prayers and wishes. A special thank you to cindy. It was nice to hear from you while I was in the hospital. The surgery went well. I ended up with 5 small incisions and the doc said it was one of the easiest procedures he had done. I was so thankful. I was in alot of pain and it affected my breathing. I want to share something very serious. One of my biggest challenges before surgery was to quit smoking and I had quit about a month before. Well it had an impact on me after my surgery. My oxygen levels had gone way down and my lungs partially collapse. They said it happened because of my past smoking, and the pain I was experiencing after surgery. I ended up staying in the hospital 5 days. It took time for my lungs to perk up and get back to normal. Now that I am home I am still having a bit of trouble breathing, but it is expected to get better with every passing day. I am on the losing side and I am so excited that this is the first week of my new life. Hugs and Kisses Lisa S.

Welcome Home Lisa! You just take it easy and a day at a time. Your on one of the most important journeys of your life and nobody is timing you. Hope every day that comes easier for you. I have found that patience is your best friend along this journey. So, use little breathing thingy that they gave you to excersize your lungs, if they didn't give you one, ask them why! Feel better soon and take care, Julio

Welcome to the losing side. Do NOT start smoking again. Folks who do this end up with all sorts of complications. Use it as the impetus to stay away from those awful things. The surgery will give you a new lease on life, don't squander it with tobacco. Congratulations!! --Steve

Glad to hear you are home and on the mend. Every day will get better. If they gave you one of those little breathing exercisers, use it. They really do help. You have nothing to do now but let the losing begin and enjoy the wonderful new life that's ahead of you. Congratulations on making it to the loser's side. Maggie

Congrats to you. I hope to be sharing the same type of story as you very soon. Being pre-op, its nice to hear these kinds of stories. 5 Days in the hospital?? Wow. What type of surgery did you have? I tried to find it in your profile, but I cant find it.
