Hi Debby, Congratulations on your weight loss. You're doing great. I do know what you mean when you've read where someone 4 months post-op has lost 100 lbs. I thought I was doing something wrong but I realize that everyone loses weight at a different speed. I too am averaging about 2 lbs a week and that's better than nothing. I am very happy with the progress that I have made. I've lost 65 lbs and am in a size 14 down from 231 lbs and size 20 and if I don't lose any more weight that's okay cause I am happy that I've lost this much. Dr. A set a goal for me of 70 lbs and I set one for 80 lbs but like I said I if I do it then great and if I don't that's okay too. One thing I do know is that I will never let myself get out of control and gain my weight back. That is one promise to myself that I will keep. Take Care Cindy

Debby... Congratulations on your weight loss thus far! Great work!!!! You mentioned that you have lymphedema... May I ask what you do for it? Do you have lymphedema in both legs? A friend of mine has lymphedema in one leg and her physician was able to prescribe a home pump that she can use every day... and it works very well... greatly diminishing the edema. Do you have a pump??? If not and you are interested in getting more information.. Please let me know. Keep up the good work! I bet you have lost a lot more...it is just the fluid "getting in the way"!! Sandy

Hi, Sandy! I've had lymphedema in both legs for about 25 years. It started as just a little ankle swelling and gradually kept getting worse and worse. How long has your friend had lymphedema? I've heard mixed things about the pump, but it never hurts to get another opinion. Would you please e-mail me more information about that doctor? Thank you. Debby

Debbie.. Congratulations. As I was reading your post it made me think back on the months since my surgery. You nailed it Debbie.. We need to look at the overall acomplishement instead of the daily or weekly losses or gains. Everyone experiences plateaus but how we deal with them is whats important. I am proud of you..you have done beautifully and as I have told Dr Aranow.. everyday there is something that makes me smile. It could be good news like yours or just being able to wash between my toes in the shower without ending up on my butt.. life is just so awesome now!! hugs Pattie
