BRING A TOOTHBRUSH You're going to feel yucky, but at least you'll have a clean mouth. My hospital toothbrush fell apart while I was brushing and I got bristles in my mouth. I hated all the protein drinks, and the ones you just add water to are the worst. Take Care! Stacey

Hey Rebecca, My thoughts and prayers are with you during this wonderful experience in your life. Your journey will be a great one. Make sure you bring a pillow from home for your tummy. It will be tough when you cough, laugh or sneeze. It helped me. Take care and good luck with a very successful and safe surgery. Hugs KimC

My suggestion..is do not buy too much before surgery..you tastes change. I wiould get some trial sizes of protein pwders and see what you like..then you can buy by bulk. Its natural to worry...but if you have done your homework..I am sure you more than ready. Good Luck..my prayers are with you. Will your boyfriend post on the boards when you are out of surgery...or do you have an angel that will let us know? Take Care...and Good Luck Joanie

Hi Rebecca: Your emotions are totally natural and to be expected. Go with the flow...be gentle with yourself. This is a big step. I really did not use much of what I brought to the hospital. I totally over-packed. Used their gowns....it was easier with the IV's and all...just used 2 gowns...one from the front and one from the back. I did bring my own slippers...that helped. and most importantly...a back scratcher! Not for the usual use of one...but as an extender. I found that it became my extended arm...with all the fluids they pumped into me...I found it hard to bend over...so it helped me reach things on my table...kind of how they reach for things on a gambling table? Make sense. One other thing I brought was my cocoa butter stick (use it instead of chapstick). It helped keep my lips moist. Be well...good luck with our journey. Towanda
