Update on Mary M.
Hi, All!
Yesterday both Dave Ewan and I had appointments with Dr. A., so we waited for each other and then went to the hospital to visit Mary M., who was lapbanded yesterday. She was feeling good...once the drugs kicked in! We had a very nice visit with her, although a number of times we thought that she'd fallen asleep, but she'd open her eyes and be alert again in just a few seconds. If it had lasted longer, we'd have left and let her sleep, but she kept telling us that she just had her eyes closed and could hear us. Dave left after a couple of hours and I was about to leave, too, but then Mary and I kept talking... Before you know it, she needed to use the bathroom and I suggested that as long as she was out of bed, it would be a good idea to take her 1st laps around the nurses' station. Her aide and I accompanied her and he kept telling her to slow down because she was walking so quickly! After a couple of laps, visiting hours were over, Mary went back into her room and I left.
Mary's hoping to be at the support group meeting Mon. night. That'll be 5 days since her surgery and would beat Beth Koster's current record of attending a meeting 6 days after surgery. What's next? A post-op coming down to the meeting from the 4th floor while still a patient?
