Curves is awesome!

I went to Curves again tonight and saw Kathy and me Stephanie (had her WLS) last June. We talked . for a while. I have to say that being able to go someplace and workout and have people who have gone through this has been amazing. The owner is also a WLS patient and she is also very nice. It makes working out fun. I also have to say that all of the other women that are there are very nice and friendly. Women sticking together ! It truly is amazing! Laurie, the owner, does not charge the registration fee ($149) TO Dr. A's patients..so it is only $30 a month...a great deal1 My boys are away with their Dad in Maine, White Water Rafting, and I feel so alone without them. Friends at work are telling me to paint my toenails and hang out on the couch and RELAX . It is just so hard for me...I am so used to having them around. I bet I will get used to it just when they come home! Have a great night! Nancy

Hi Nancy, I also work out at Curves in Ellington. I've been going since early May a few weeks after my surgery. I'm the only WLS person there..so the ladies are always asking me where I'm at..how I'm feeling. For those women who are heavier they ask alot of questions on the surgery/after affects/etc.. a few are thinking of getting the surgery and I try to answer honestly with the ups and downs of eating/throwing up etc.. I agree it's nice that the women band together..we have the same atmosphere too! We laugh and joke around and have interesting discussions that make the time fly! With the combination of walking/Curves/and WLS I've lost 80 pounds (70 surgery only) and feel wonderful! 70 lbs since 4/26/05...I NEVER would have thought it could happen. I'm in the same boat as you..my son has been in Colorado and Camp over the past 2 weeks. It's been awfully quiet around my house..I miss him terribly and I'm SOOO looking forward to having him home! He comes home tomorrow & I cannot wait! The house is TOO quiet! Take Care, Mickey
