Inexpensive Stallone High-Protein Pudding
Hi, All!
I saw a post from earlier this evening on the main message board where Kathy Hambrick stated that drugstore. com is selling the Stallone high-protein pudding for $1.99 a 4-pack, which is much less expensive than the $6 than GNC charges. I went to their website and saw something that led me to call their customer service dept. to ask some questions. Here's what I found out. $1.99 is their everyday price. They accept the GNC gold card during the 1st 7 days of each month (just like the GNC stores), which gives you a 20% discount, so the price then for GNC gold card members would be $1.59! If your order is at least $25 (after the discount), shipping is free. And if your order after the discount is at least $50, on top of free shipping, they take $5 off your total. At that price, it becomes less expensive than the Jello sugar-free pudding (which has no or almost no protein). Even if the Jello pudding is on sale and you have a coupon, like it is this week at Stop & Shop, that makes the price $4 for 2 6-packs, compared to $4.77 for 3 4-packs of the Stallone pudding (assuming that you're a gold card member and your order is at least $25 so you're not paying for shipping). That's only 6 1/2 cents more per container, certainly not a bad price for 20 grams of protein. Of course, if you don't buy anything but the pudding, you'd have to order 16 4-packs to get your total over $25, but when did we ever have problems eating pudding? Even if you only had 3 a week, you'd finish them in less than 5 months. And the ones I bought at GNC several months ago have an expiration date of Oct. 2005, so hopefully the ones at drugstore.com have a similar shelf life.
