Shopping...........cleaning out...... questions?

Hello everyone, I am starting to clean out my closet before surgery. Did everyone do this before surgery or did you wait until after you started losing? I was out and about yesterday and ended up at the goodwill. I found the cutest post op outfit ( polo jeans and a tan sweater). I bought it.. It cost a whole $2.50. hehe. I am gonna work my hardest after surgery to get in that damn outfit. Have any of you bought an outfit in anticipation of wearing it after surgery? Did it help motivate you? Im getting really excited..... Ps. The jeans I bought are in a waist size (32). Does anyone know what a size 32 waist might translate to. ( besides small...lol) I know its funny I dont even know what size they are.. but I would love to be that size... That was my point in buying them..... Lisa

Hi Lisa! I don't think I cleaned out my closet beforehand, but I did clean house after the surgery. I swear, the people at my local drop box must LOVE me. I gave them so many nice things! ;) I'm 5'2" and my waist is a 31 1/2" now. I wear between a 10 and a 12 pants. So, that would be my guess for your new jeans. Good luck!! Love, Tammy

Lisa, I thought about doing the same but my friends do not expect to be able to wear the small sizes right away. I hade my surgery on 7/18 and I am down 42lbs and 2 clothes sizes and 1 in jeans. I am working out everyday and eating right so I wish you the best of luck in your WL journey. I still have another 110lbs before I hit my goal but in due time

Thanks for the help Tammy and Barbara, I have enough clothes to outfit a small army....lol I have a lot..... I have gone up and down in weight so many times that it looks like about 5 people live out my closet. I know my weight loss will be gradual and I dont believe I have a unrealistic view to what my journey will be like, but I am just trying to sort through all this stuff. My fiance already says I have so many clothes I do not even wear..lol He also keeps urging me to clean out the closet...hehe Lisa
