The balls rolling!!!

Hi Everyone, This is my first post, although I have been reading all your info for months. I went to the informational seminar with Dr. Aranow. Then i called my insurance company and they cover the surgery...so, I made my appt with the good Dr. and my primary Dr. Now, I am in the process of compiling my dieting history...OMG!! This could take awhile. Anyway, man am I scared...I guess that is normal..Right? Thank you for all the info..I have learned so much from all of you and this site....Colleen

Hi Kristin, Thank you for the encouragement....I plan to attend as many of the support groups as possible. I live in Stonington, CT so it is a bit of a ride. Hopefully, I will see you at a meeting...thanks again, Colleen

Welcome to the Boards!!! This place is amazing so visit often. These people are so kind and welcoming. You can ask your doctor questions til your blue in the face and he can answer them to the best of his ability, but to be able to talk to men and women who have actually experienced it - I have learned so much from these people and made my journey alot easier! It is all overwhelming once you make your decision to do it, but as you go through the process it gets easier. Phyllis

Hi Colleen, Sent you a private email, but wanted to let you know that I live right in the next town! We can carpool to the meetings if you wish! Also, Dr Aranow has a patient that does a support group at Mohegan Sun on the third Thursday of the month. He gave me her email address and I can give it to you if you'd be interested in a closer meeting. Dr A told me that it would totally "count" as attending! Don't know how good it is, but I may check it out someday. Again, welcome to this site. This local CT one and the main national one is full of great info and don't be shy to post.
