I had my surgery about a week ago and now moved onto puree food. I kind of in amazement when he said to move to state 4, but I am having a hard time finding foods I mite like that I can eat which are high in protien! Looking at profiles and previous postings I saw Wendy's Chili is good for this stage. Any help with what foods are good and ones that are not. I was looking at the babyfood, but they don't look appealing. I also tried to figure out which yogurt I could eat with the surgar content but got all confused. Please help me!!!!

I'm a little surprised you are starting on foods already also. Most of us are on clear liquid diets for about two weeks following surgery. Please take it easy at first. If you are truly on purees, try some things like soft cheeses like low fat cottage cheese, and yogurts. I liked the carb control yogurts, low in sugar and higher in protein. You can try some protein drinks also, so you don't push the foods too much. You can also try some applesauce. You can mix it with the cottage cheese. I would avoid Wendy's chili for now, don't even attempt any meats for a few weeks since you are so early in the game. Remember, you are still healing! Protein is important, but you are still in early stages, it is much more important that you get all your fluids in. Drink lots of water! Pam

Hi Christine: What saved me was sugar free hot chocolate with whey protein powder. It was tasty enough, and full of protein. Hope that helps! Love, Tammy

I used fat-free cream cheese and mushed up chick peas. Be careful with those, though because you may get gas from the beans and you have to be weary of the skins. Eggbeaters are also great at this stage of the game. Good luck & take it easy. You have the rest of your life to eat "real" food. Take advantage of your new tool. Stacey 254/175/???

My favorite was sugar free chocolate pudding (2oz) with 1/2 scoop of unflavored Unjury protein powder. It ended up being like 13- to 15 grams of protein. I usually did that twice a day when I was on pureed foods. Phyllis
