Just a litle update on ME!!

Well I am all set and sitting here awaitng a phone call from Louis. I got one lasst week and she gave me a date of 8/17/05 and I got so excited and scared at the same time. Well not an hour later she called and said that my insurance company denied it (health net healthy options) saying that they NOW all of a sudden require a 6 month diet to be followed by a Dr. before they will cover it.. So I went from This to this in 2.2 seconds... Well of course this all happened at 4:45 on a friday so I sat here all weekend all upset thinking that I would have to wait 6 more months. So first thing Monday morning I called my Dr and asked them to have him call me back asap and they said ok NO PROBLEM.. Well 3:00 rolls around STILL no call from my PCP.. I called them back just to have them say "oh I am sorry Dr. is on vacation all this week" ARGHHHHHHH. So here i sit waiting till monday to talk to him and see if he will write me a note. THEN Louis calls and said that the insurance company sent her a letter that states that they will NOT pay for it unless I have a ILLNESS. WHAT IS OBESITY not a ILLNESS to them,, It sure makes me feel sick.. So here's hopinig that everything will go as planned. My dad of course who is 100% against this said to me "see there is your OMEN".. I am so upset I just am so ready to be a loser I am sick of crying EVERY DAY about how I can't walk, or breathe etc... Lisa, I'm sorry to hear about all the cr@p your insurance company is putting you through. My sister had the same problem and hired a lawyer. It took almost a year of denials and letters, but finally her surgery has been approved and scheduled for Sept. 13. Her lawyer's name is Gary Viscio and can be found on the web at www.obesitylawyers.com He has reasonable rates and he keeps really good contact with his clients. He is out of New York state, but works with Connecticut clients. Don't Give Up~There is only 1 You & You're Worth It!!! Stacey

Sorry about all the crap the insurance is putting you through...Can you change to a different plan? Also, do you have any co-morbodities associated with your obesity? Hang in there Lisa, I hope things work out for you . Keep us updated...
