Hey Guys: This might be a dumb question, but I am 7 months post op and I have seemed to have stopped to a point now at 95lbs loss, I keep going up and down 2 to 3 lbs. What is going on? Why is this happening? I am not premenstral and I have not changed my eating? What am I doing wrong? I am freaking out here. I went today for my crown on my teeth and they could only do one, the other is sensitive now and I may have to get another root canal, I am so depressed about this, I am going out of my mind. Why is all this happening to me. First the ovarian biopsy, then all the breast tests and now this? I thought I was done with all this @*$&#. Everything was negative but its still so overwhelming. I am sorry for all the venting and complaining but its been so overwhelming these past couple of weeks, I just want all this medical stuff to stop. I am hoping the tooth will get better so I don't have to have another root canal. Ok, family give me some advice help me understand what the heck is going on here. I know that after 6 months you slow down but this is driving me crazy, I want to get to the 100lbs lost mark and get to my goal, I know I should be patient, but I am getting so anxious!!!!! Well I guess I will try to be patient, thanks for letting me vent, I love you all and appreciate everyone listening to my whining. Hugs KimC

Hi, Kim! Whine away. If you can't vent here, where can you vent? Having had my surgery 3 days before you, we're pretty much in the same place. And if you include my pre-WLS weight loss, I've lost almost as much as you have. For the past 3 months, I've been going up and down the same few pounds, but in that time I've lost inches, my clothes have gotten looser and I can easily see my collar bone. Also, people who I haven't seen for several weeks or a month keep commenting about my having lost weight since they last saw me. So it's only the scale that isn't reflecting the changes in my body. That is until almost a week ago. I started losing again, but then gained some of it back over the last 2 days. So what's the answer? Just keep doing what you're supposed to do...eat enough protein, drink enough fluids, try to stick to the "better" carbs, exercise...and eventually the needle on the scale will start moving again. Hugs, Debby

Hi Kim, I have been where you are now. Not to worry, it will get better. Have to break away from that scale. Thank God that all your tests came back negative! Thats something to be joyful about. Your recent trip to the amusement park to share the fun of riding the rides with your kids. Another joyful event! It's true that even when the scale doesn't move your clothes keep getting bigger on you. Remember muscle weighs more than fat so even when your losing fat, the muscle your replacing it with can make the scale act this way. So try to relax, your doing wonderful! When I'm feeling down I just tell myself you have to have a few bad days to really appreciate the good one's! So, just keep going the way you are and when in doubt, Just look at that pre op photo and at yourself now and give yourself a well deserved thumb's up! Take Care, Julio

Kim First of all, you had enough for all of the tests and your teeth fixed!!!! Like I told Joanie, I am taking her weight scale with me and I am doing same thing with you WINK! Just measure your body and the more losing inches from your body than the number of your weight. Go buy the smaller size for jean and try it on everyday instead go to on weight scale. Just keep what you are doing , make sure you have protein 70 or above per day, intake of fluid, exercise and reward yourself for little things. You will make 100 pounds very soon. Remember everybody lose their weight different ways. You know me I refuse to eat any carbs but just started very limited to have very little carbs but not everyday because I was QUEEN CARBS before I had this surgery. I will email you privately after I look at your food log on this board and will give you some advices to not or eat some stuffs. ILY Hugs Kathy K

Hi Kim, I am only a few weeks ahead of you and exactly in the same situation as you. I am also perimenopausal. I have been seesawing on the scale since mid-May. I made a choice to not let it bother me. I have never in my life been thin and at this point I don't give a S*** if I never lose anymore. Would it be nice to be thinner? Yes. Do I feel 100% better than I did 8 months ago? YES!!!! Is that the most important part of this? YES, YES, YES!!!!! It hasn't been so long since surgery where you have forgotten what it was like before. Keep remembering all the issues you used to have and don't anymore. The glass is half full, not half empty. As far as the other problems, I'm sorry it has been so stressful for you. Unfortunately the surgery doesn't get rid of all our problems and as we get older being "perfectly" healthy will never be again. I say damn to mother nature and just do the best you can to just be a little ahead of her for as long as you can. Keep your chin up and try to stay positive. Tee
