Tomorrow night support group...
Hi everybody!
I attended my first meeting tonight. I am so glad I went. I left the Hartford area at about 5:30 figuring that I wanted to get there early, so that I could get a good seat in the back of the room. On my way to Middletown, traffic was backed up from Windsor all the way to exit 25 (Wethersfield). I was moving along at about 15 miles an hour, when I started saying, "Well, it looks like I'm going to be late, and since I hate being late, maybe I should just turn around and go back home."
Then I decided to get off of 91 and try local streets through Hartford, into Wethersfield, and then below exit 25. I got to the meeting late, had to sit front and center. But boy am I glad I went. In fact, Dawn, I sat right across from you and diagonally from Adam.
To each of you who bravely shared your stories, THANK YOU. Without knowing who I was, you all made me feel welcome. Those of you have already had your surgeries and have lost so much weight you gave me a great deal of hope.

I am glad you made it to the meeting..that was my 3rd support group and its an awesome group! I am going to meet w/ Dr Aranow tomorrow and couldn't be more excited. I definately feel your 'pain' about the rollercoasters..I would love to go on them, but fear I won't fit...hopefully in a couple months though I will be whipping around in em!!
I hope to see you at the next meeting...good luck with the orientations and go with your gut.. I also went to another drs orientation and did not get the feeling I did when I went to Dr A's.
I can't wait to start my life..
