4 month post op and bruising,popped viens

Hi Everyone, Happy 4th of July, I have a ? Has anyone had bruising after there surgery. I have many buises all over my legs, I also have noticed more viens are noticible and large.. what could be the problem ???? I have a doc apt on thursday to check with her what it could be. I take flinstone vitamins with iron 2 a day.. Could my iron be low, could I be aniemic? Has anyone had this problem ??? HELP !!! Tara

Hi Tara, I have noticed bruises on my legs as well and have noticed more veins on my arms and legs and I kinda figured it's just because there less fat to hide them. Am a litte over 3 months post op and down oh so very close to 100 pounds. I have had blood workup done by my PCP and everything came out perfect so maybe thats the reason. Bring it up with your doctor of course, and if there's any news please pass it on. Take care. Julio

Hi Tara, I wake up with bruises a lot on my hands, arms and legs as well and have no idea where they come from. I have been diagnosed anemic, so I just assumed it was from that. I have an appointment with my surgeons office on the 13 and was going to ask about it then. If you find out, could you please post? Maggie

Hi Tara, Ask your doctor when you see what she has to say. You might want to also check out the main board. The other day someone posted an article about bruising with weight loss. It said that do to losing a lot of weight you have excess capiliaries (Sorry about spelling) near the skin and this will cause bruising in some people. Again, check with your doctor. Heidi 267/160/147
