i can eat anything i want.  I thought I would have to give up so many foods that i loved to eat, but now i just wish i could.   I don' have any problems eating sugars or meats (soda, Steak, Ect..) which is now a problem.  I'm addicted to food and NEED REHAB.

Have you spoken to your doctor or his nutritionist about this? You might benefit from some counselling before you sabatoge yourself and stop losing or start regaining weight. Be sure to eat dense protien first then add vegetables and some good carbs but in moderation. Try and stay away from sweets and simple carbs like sugar, white bread, white rice ect. Eating those can make you crave them even more. Stop those bad carbs and try and stick with more complex carbs like whole grain foods and fruit. You can do this by making better choices. The rewards will be great. What ever you do, don't give up. You need to make changes for life and it takes time and determination to succeed.

YOU CAN DO THIS!

Get rid of those foods that you should not be eating, make sure you get enough protien in, that will fill you up and keep that full feeling longer.

All my best

you may have a sugar addiction but it's not cancer--it's a compulsion! i've lost over 200 pounds since my RNY but it's complicated. in the last couple months i've gained 20 pounds, so what did i do? i joined a weight loss program. got weighed last night lost 2 pounds, or 10 percent o fmy goal. i am taking control of this before it controls me again. i'm not heavy, i'm about 150 pounds  on a 5-8 frame. but i feel better at 135. take control of yourself. dump the soda please it's one of the worst things you can do for yourself. water, sugar-free drinks, i like the lo-cal gatorade . get in your proteins and maybe get some therapy. you're only 5 months out you should be losing losing losing! take control!!! you CAN do it. try to remember WHY you had the surgery.

If I could make a suggestion, you might want to check out an OA meeting, Overeaters Anonymous. I have been going for a couple years now, and while the surgery is certainly a huge help with the physical aspects, I find I need help with the emotional and spiritual sides as well. I would be cautious about admitting you are a WLS patient though, at least in the beginning. There are some in the group that can be very condescending towards us. My group knows me well, and knows I had my surgery and completely supports me, but I have seen some very negative opinions about it as well.
