Is there an OH group that meets in CT?
Sandy,
Unfortuneately there is not a OH group. I would love to have one, but I honestly don't think it will take off. I have tried to do a summer get-together, a holiday get-together and all I got were a few responses. These were all done in the past and there was quite a turnout from what I understand. There was also a Spring Gala to benefit the CT Bariatric Association, but it does not look like it will happen this year. The person that did it last year put it on her credit card and took a loss as there were not enough tickets sold to cover her cost let alone make a donation. Maybe you get things moving on this board.

For many of us, our support group meetings are both a great way to stay on track and a way to socialize with others who are trying to life the same healthy lifestyle.
Although we are not an "OH" Group, we do have a twice-monthly group at Norwalk Hospital for all post-ops (we have banded and RNY regular members) from a variety of surgical programs and a number of different hospitals. All our meetings are peer-lead and are free. If you're interested (and you are ever in the Norwalk-area) we meet at 6 p.m. in the FIRST FLOOR VOLUNTEER CONFERENCE ROOM of Norwalk Hospital on the FIRST WEDNESDAY and the THIRD MONDAY of every month.
