Pregnancy after gastric bypass
I am 29 years old and about 20 months post op. I have reached my goal weight of 120llbs. Now I'm ready to have a baby. I have endometriosis so I cant conceive naturally. My husband and I are looking into IVF (invitro fertilization). One of my husbands main concerns is that the baby wont get alot of nutrition and there will be side effects that will effect the baby because of my gastric bypass. Can anyone give me any information on this subject at all....
I really want a baby!

You can and most likely WILL have a completely normal pregnancy after Gastric Bypass. You'll have to adjust your diet accordingly to make sure you're taking in an apropriate amount of nutrition/vitamins. Often this is done with the advice of a nutritionist. Your OB may want to follow you as high risk because of the potential for nutritional deficiencies, but not all OBs do. Some OB's just treat us GB'ers as normal PT's.
In short- you'll be fine. Tell your hubby that your GB is not an important factor, just one that has to be managed.
Best of luck TTC (trying to conceive)
