Click on the link below to get your registration and pledge forms. http://www.walkfromobesity.com/southandcentralct/index.php I'm hoping you'll all join me at this years walk and help us stamp out obesity for future generations. You'll get a T-Shirt and goodies the day of the walk and we'll even be having a beach party following. So come one, come all, sign up soon! The sooner you start collecting those pledges the better! Hugs to all of you! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me! Carla

Carla, hopefully not a dumb question, but what exactly happens at this event? I've never heard of it. I would love to go though. Thanks. Pat

Hi Pat! There's never a dumb question in my book! Essentially this is a gathering of people from around our state who will participate in a Walk-a-thon. The walkers will sign up pledges from friends, coworkers, family, etc...and on 9/24 we will all do the walk. The entire course is 3K but people can walk as far as they want or are able to. We'll have a raffle and prizes and every walker that registers in advance is guaranteed a t-shirt (and probably a goodie bag). The walk will then be followed by a beach party with refreshments where the walkers and their friends/family can enjoy the rest of the day. Hope you will consider joining us!!!! Should be a great day and a great way to network with others in our little community! Hugs, Carla

Hey Carla, Missed seeing you at Goldblast, there were so many people there I did not see you. We stayed until about 11pm. I was in the yard outside in the back most of the night talking to coworkers. Well I printed up the registration form and pledge form, I have to check with my husband to make sure we don't have anything that weekend, but I expect to be there as long as I can handle the walking and my back is ok. I really would love to participate in this its a great cause. I will probably have my daughter walk with me. I will let you know definately if I sign up. Hope to see you there. But I hope to see you in July before that at the Summer Gathering. Hugs KimC

Hey there Kim! OMG, by the time I finished hiking through Central park that day I was exhausted! So I never made it to the GoldBlast (yet again!). Hopefully you'll be able to come to the walk! I will be seeing you in July at the Summer Gathering!!! Hugs, Carla

Hi Carla! I will be coming to the first meeting in July (sorry I will miss you that day)... but I have a question to ask before then. How long is the walk?? What time does it start? Although I will be unable to do the walk, I may be able to pick up my son from college to come and walk... but would like the specifics to tell him. I look forward to helping out however I can! Sandy

Sandy! How are you dearie?? Devil's in the details....here ya go. The walk is a 3k - but everyone can go as far as they are willing/able. Registration starts at 9, walk at 10am. And no problem with walking/not walking, etc...- we understand we're a community of people with VERY wide diversity in abilities depending on where you are in your journey! I am so glad you will be helping us out on the committee and sad that I won't be there at the next mtg to greet you. Hopefully the next one!!! The more the merrier at the walk so recruit recruit recruit!!! Hugs, Carla
