Hello board .. Was wondering if I can get your opinion on something. On bariatriceating.com there are so many options as far as protein drinks. Do you have any suggestions on which ones I should try? I know there's a way to order samples but I don't know where to go. Can you help with that as well? By the way .. it doesn't have to be from bariatric eating. Any help is greatly appreciated. Jen

Hi Jen! First - let me wish you the best of luck on your journey. I see your date is fast approaching so you must be getting excited! Now as far as protein drinks. We get this question all the time here. So let me try to give you some tips on this topic. - Your tastes may change after surgery so don't buy too much of anything at this point. - I suggest you go to a local nutrition store like - Vitamin Shoppe (there's one in Milford that I know of), or GNC. Pick up 1 of a few different proteins - they often stock samples, especially of the powdered drinks, just ask! - My personal favorites: IsoPure Zero Carb (glass bottle lots of varieties, I like Blue Rasberry, Alpine Punch and Apple Melon), another fave is Myoplex CarbSense Ready to Drink in Cafe Caramel or Chocolate Fudge. - From Bariatric Eating I get my AchievOne - like a flavored Ice Coffee! Again - try to buy just 1 of everything to try first. What one person here likes, another hates...everyone is so individual it's really a tough thing. Best of luck Jen! Any questions, feel free to ask! Hugs, Carla

Hey Jen, Best of luck with everything!!!! What an exciting time. Protein Drinks... it is so individual. It is all really what you find you like. I have tried and enjoy the Isopure from GNC. I like the already made. The powder is not as good (my opinion of course). I also very much enjoy the UNJURY unflavored. It adds to Crystal Lite nicely and mixes great. I also like the chocolate flavored. I drink it cold and warm. The website for that is UNJURY.COM I would not go nuts buying any protein till after your surgery as your taste do change. Maybe get samples like you had mentioned and see what you at least enjoy now. Best of Luck Carrie

Jennifer, I order my protein through bariatriceating.com and LOVE their Nectar protein drinks. It mixes up in water and is a consistency like Crystal Lite. I don't really care for the "thicker" drinks at this point. You can order sample packs from bariatriceating. Just look under the protein drink you are interested in and you should find the sampler packs. I agree with the other posts - find out what you like by getting small samples at first and you may find that your tastes do change - mine certainly did. Best of luck!!! Pat

Jennifer; Welcome to the family, I know your going to be a great success in your journey to the losing side. My personal favorites on protein shakes are the Atkins Protein Shakes. They come in various flavors: Chocolate, Strawberry, Vanilla Caramel, Orange Creme. My favorite is the Vanilla Caramel. On bariatric eating I love the AchievOne drinks, they are like Frappuccino's from Starbucks but with no sugar. They are great. I also get a new drink that is out called FUZE. They come in various fruit flavors. The cranraspberry and the berrymelon are the best and under 2grams of sugar. Some of the others you have to be careful they have high grams of sugar. But those two flavors are great and ok for gastric people. Good luck in your decision and God Bless. Hugs KimC
