Beth: It sounds like you are doing great to me. You will not loose pounds every week due to your body needing time to adjust however you are more than likely still loosing inches. I had the same surgeon. I feel he is just awesome!!! Just think when was the last time you were able to loose 40 pounds and keep it off? I know I could not. Keep up the good work you will do great. I know when the scale doesn't buge I get upset also but give it a few days and it will start moving again. Did you take your measurements? I did not and wish I did. I can tell by the way my clothes feel that when I go for a period of the scale staying the same that I am still loosing because my clothes feel looser. Do you go to the support group meetings at Yale? They are great & I try to get to them every month. Let me know if you have any other questions or if you just want to chat. Keep up the great work!!!! well..thanks chryssie.. i need the support.. i have been to 2 meetings at yale.. did not make the june meeting due to a wake.. but i hope to make the july one.. i wi****ook my measurements too.. i know i am losing them, cuz i am wearing clothes i couldnt last summer.. but i am worried, cuz i can take in more food than i used too... i just have to be careful not to fall back into poor eating habits.. do you still drink boost/ protien shakes.. i liked the atkins chocolate..i am so afraid of losing my hair... some of my friends are losing theirs due to lack of protien..when did you have your surgery?... and how are you doing now?.. again..thanks for your support.. this is the best thing i ever did for my body.. but it is also the hardest.. quitting smoking has been easier... lol... beth

Hi Beth I too am about 6 weeks out, and everyday I see myself and feel I am still 327 pounds where I started. Last time I went to the dr I was down about 44 pounds and that was at 1 month out. I have not lost a pound since which is very frustrating. BUT yesterday I tried on a skirt size 24 and it fit!!! Also some shorts that are size 22/24 are a little snug but before surgery I would NEVER have even tried them on. So I guess what they say about losing inches even if you are not losing pounds is true. How else would these sizes fit me when I started at a 30/32 bottoms?? I walk about a mile a day also and one of my friends reminded me I am probably building muscle which isheavier than fat so that might be why the scale isnt moving. I hope some of this made sense if not hey I am sleep deprived lol! I cant wait to say I have more energy! Good luck on your journey! And congrats on ur loss to date! hugssssssssssss Krista 327/283 -44

Hi Beth, Congrats on your surgery and welcome to the CT Boards. I, too, had Dr. Bell. He is awesome! Chryssie and I had our surgery five days apart. I am a very slow loser. I'm 11 months out and down 77lbs. Don't give up and take it slow. It will come off, and the good thing about his is that Dr. Bell gave us a "tool" so it will stay off! Let me know if I can help in anyway. The first few weeks are the toughest. It gets better, trust me JA
