question
HI all!
I'm almost a month out and I'm eating solid food, carefully. I still feel like I can eat a lot more than I think I should be able to. I have a hard time deciding when I feel full. Is this normal still for this stage? I'm worried that I'm eating too much. I'm keeping everything I eat healthy though.
Thanks so much
Heather

I agree with Chryssie. I felt as though I could have eaten more, although I didn't have anything really solid until my first egg. I was not able to eat any kind of meat except a little ground up tuna for at least another month. I measured my portions and ate only what I had on the plate. I supplemented my meals with sugar-free jello, a small cheese snack, or sugar-free applesauce whenever I was hungry. I also began to walk outside and later on the treadmill.
I tried to train myself to listen to my stomach's satiety signal, and eat only when I was hungry and not at any specified time. That seemed to work. I also would do some yard work or putter around in the garage. Drinking lots of water and crystal lite helped a lot.
I think that as you lose more weight, desire and hunger tend to fade also because your body needs less food to sustain it. For now, I would take Chryssie's suggestion and measure your portions, and I'd also record them. If you have to go back to see the doctor, you'll have a detailed list of the amount of food you've eaten and it may be easier to determine what, if anything, is up.
