I'm scheduled to have my surgery July 5 and I want to know if I should invest in a recliner. I've read on several posts that they are a MUST but before I invest $500 in one I would like to know what you guys/gals think. JEN

LOL ! Well, I personally think they ARE a must, but not based on surgery. Based on pure indulgence and luxury. My husband and I got one each (buttery-soft burgundy leather) at Bob's Furniture when we bought our house, then we each got a vibrating massage chair pad from Brookstone. Ah............. You're so funny .. actually .. I thought about getting my hubby one as well. He says he doesn't need one but I'm not sharing mine so I figured I might as well get him one too.

I wouldn't of gotten through my surgery without one. We went to Bob's and got a really nice one for $275 dollars. I really wanted to keep it, but really didn't have the room for it. I sold it for $200 in the paper when I was done with it. Maggie

Nice .. The one I was looking at is $399 + shipping and it comes out to $598. I'm getting it from Rooms-to-go in FL. I'm going to have to get rid of my futon though cuz I won't have room for both things in my home office. Jenny

Yeesh. That's a whole lotta shipping charges. Have you shopped them locally? And crawling through my window under cover of darkness and making off with mine is NOT shopping!!!

I didn't HAVE to have one, but it did come in handy for the first two weeks. I also bought mine at Bob's for about $250 at the warehouse in Manchester, I think.

some people say its a must and some don't. i don't. i was actually going to rent one for $15 a week at rent-a-center because I didn't have the room for one permanently. a post op told me that i shouldn't because i would never get used to getting in and out of my bed. i am glad i didn't because i think it helped me recover quicker and deal with the pain easier. but again, everyone is different and that is just my opinion. however, if you don't want to purchase, try rent-a-center. phyllis
