diet pills before surgery

morning! just wondering if anyone tried zetacap before they had the surgery? they claim to be like the gastric bypass.. also... do you guys have a problem w/ excess skin..i know thats personal so you dont have to answer, but just wondering if its hard for you to tone up after loosing all the weight..or should i start saving for a plastic surgeon... thanks... i am so glad to be part of this board!! dawn

Dawn I never tried zetacap but I tried everything from Fad diets and few diet pills in the past but none of them dont work for me. Please do not worry about excess skin because for Dr Aranow's patients, we cannot have plastic surgery after 18 months after this gastric bypass surgery. I am more happier to wear smaller and is not worrying about my excess skin but know I need tummy tuck in the future but I am not sure what my insurance company said about this yet. Kathy K

Hi Dawn, I don't know much about the pills, I did look at them online, but it looks like another fad to me. It's personal as always. As for hanging skin, I am starting to get some. That is individual. From what I hear, it depends on how long your skin has been stretched out. I work out daily, and probably will not be able to tone much if any at all. I will need much PS. The insurance companies are very different. I think it depends on whether they will save money on you getting PS or not. If you have back pain or rashes due to hanging skin, then they may pay for it. I know Yale Clinic is a *****eaper for whatever is not covered. To me, even if I never get PS, I feel sooo much better without the excess weight! Pam
