First Dump

Terrible title. Well, I thought I was immune to dumping, even though, up to this point, I really did not try anything with too much sugar. We had a barbecue yesterday, ribs, chicken, salads, etc., and a pinwheel cheesecake, remember, the variety pack kind? Well, I ate ½ piece of chicken and one rib. I know, the rib had fat and sugar from the barbecue sauce, but it was a fall off the bone rib! Anyway, I felt ok. Then as the evening wore on I had 3 tiny bites of cheesecake. Whoowee, did I feel crappy. Clammy, nauseous, light headed, etc. Yuck, yuck, yuck, will never do that again. Glad to be a first time dumper after 6 months, it taught me a good lesson.

Hi Paula, don't feel too bad. I had the same thing happen to me. Was very careful not to eat too much Barbecue that my mom in law brought to celebrate Me and my wifes wedding anaversery. Thought I had gotten away with it but about a half hour later the feelings you talked about hit. I will miss that barbecue place but I guess it's a small price to pay for the new life this surgury has given me. Good Luck and God Bless. Julio

Ribs I can do.. cheesecake... I loved it.. but will NEVER eat it again. The thought of that and icecream just make me gag. I haven't had any issues from fat on ribs, nor bbq sauce, since there's really not that much in 2 ribs.. but anything fried, in a batter.. Isn't dumping the worst?? I'm glad to have it though.. it's my lesson learned. Take care, Michelle
