Hi I am Bethany and I am new :)

Hi Everyone!!!! I went to the Dr. Barba's info seminar on May 12th and have been doing evals and all that good stuff!!! I am hoping to have Gastric Bypass done. I would love to hear from anyone who had this done or also wants to have it done...I am trying to learn about the differnt types of Gastric Bypass..... Thanks so much for all your help!!!! Hello Bethany, I am also new to this board. I have read it for about a year now but now just finally started talking as I am trying to get info myself. I was going to look into his seminar but they say that after the seminar you have to wait about 8-12 months for the surgery? I want mine done last week. LOL Even though I am SCARED TO DEATH. One thing I heard is he uses a JP Drain and I DO NOT WANT THAT. I think that Dr A. said that he doesn't so I am leaning towards him alot more. E-mail me anytime you want and we can chat. Hi Bethany, I had Laporscopic Gastric Bypass surgury on 3-29-05 and it's the best. Healing time is alot faster. I was up and back at work in 2 weeks and the pain was minimal. That "JP Drain" is just an annoyance and while the removal is interesting it only takes a moment. The important thing when picking a surgeon is knowing the background and experence. I had mine done as St Ray's in New Haven and Dr. Nadzam and his staff were awsome.I am down 65 pounds from my surgury weight and feeling great,so good luck on your journey to a better life! Julio

Hi Bethany my name is Cheri and I to am new. This site is GREAT for support, congradulations on your new journey to a new and heathier life. My sugery is July6th and I can't wait to be on the loosing side. My Dr. is Dr. Bell at Yale New Haven hospital and I think he is great but you have to decide for yourself. There is alot of info on this site about Dr.'s. Take the time to read about them, all of them if you could.I'm having lap.gastric by pass done.
