Planet Fitness - Hamden, CT
Thank you so much... I went to a salsa workshop in NYC this Saturday and when I seen myself in the whole mirror, i was like "uh, i did slim down". I am just so hard on myself - it seems to me that I lost 10 pounds instead of 55 pounds. Even thou that I feel much better... Just Crazy .... Thank u again.
Hi Megaly:
I am a member at PLanet Fitness in Norwalk. I have been going for over a year and I really like it. The atmosphere is very relaxed and very accepting. There are people of ALL shapes, sizes, ages, etc. there. There are always people in the gym that are there to help if you need it, they'll even set you straight if you're using a machine improperly. I have also used their locations in Trumbull and Shelton. All gyms are very clean and nicely maintained. God knows you can't beat their fees!
Their trainers, at least in Norwalk, are independent of the gym. I don't know what their rates are, I know I wanted to hire them for once a week for 12 weeks, and it was like trying to buy a used car. Meet with a manager, discuss needs, set goals, etc., etc.
I don't know if this helped, but I thought I'd throw my opinion in. Keep up the good work, you look fantastic!
All the best,
Bob
Okay, I joined and loved it so far. I knew lots of people there so I felt right at home. I had my friend join with me and my two other friends are joining tomm. I want to make sure I have somone to push me and remind me how important it is for me to go. It does not hurt to have a push... Will keep u posted...
Hi Magaly,
You do look marvelous!
Keep up the good work!
I belong to the planet fitness in Milford.
I recently took on a personal trainer there with the Platinum Advantage plan.
I meet once a week with the trainer. She also developed a plan with cardio & weights for the rest of the week, when she is not working with me. The price was fairly reasonable. I contracted once a week for a whole year and it costs, $160.00 a month. For me it helps to be accountable to someone.
Good luck!
Kelly
Hi,
I am a planet fitness member in Hamden. I live just down the street. It is a really nice facility. They do not have a lot of the "big time" things like aerobics classes, courts, pool etc. but do have a ton of cardio and weight equipment. I find myself never having to wait for a machine. They have so many! It is not intimidating at all. They also have a juice bar. I must confess I haven't been there in a while due to some other health related problems, but can't wait to be able to get back to my old workout schedule. You can sign up for group training sessions (which are free) or personal training sessions (not sure of the cost). It has the most reasonable rates of any gym I ever attended. I have a flyer where you can join for $29 down and $10 per month. They just automatically bill your checking acct. or credit card monthly. I don't even think they have a minimum commitment time wise. If you want to take advantage of this rate, I would be happy to pass the flyer on to you. It is a special rate for a "friend" since I am already a member. It expires on June 3rd though, so let me know. Feel free to e-mail me. Jaime from Hamden.
Lap RNY May 13, 2004. Was 273 am about 165.
Still want to lose another 20-30 lbs.
