Hi, everyone I'm new to the board. Just learning how the whole thing works. you all seem very supportive and I'm hoping someone can help me. I live in Bridgeport, I plan on having the lap-band. I have finished almost all of my dr. appts. Wed. 5/25/05 I have the endoscopy and the sleep study test. Then I'm suppose to set an appt. for the liquid diet. The problem you ask? well I guess you could call it cold feet. For some reason I'm feeling really apprehensive about the edoscopy because I've all ready tried to keep the appt. 3 times and each time somthing came up. I actually went to the hospital to check in and was told for one reason or another that I couldn't do it. Now I'm do to go tomorrow and everything seems to be getting in the way. Any words of advice? I know its late but if anyone is still up and feel they could help I sure would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

This proably comes to late..but the endoscopy is not that bad. You are in a twilight sleep..and hardly know what is happening. The fasting prep is easier than the colonoscopy cleanout... Hang in there...its all so worth it! Joanie

I also had an endoscopy. "Twilight" is a good way to word it. You feel absolutely nothing. Don't worry ... everything will work out for the best! Barb

Hello, I had the lap band done with Dr. Tran at Bridgeport Hospital and it was the best thing I have ever done. I have lost 43 pounds since 3/3/05. Stick with it and you will be okay. If you need any help or information please feel free to e-mail me. Patty

I've had three endoscopies, it's one of the easiest procedures to have. The anesthesia is a conscious sedation, and the Versed used has a side effect of short-term amnesia. You won't likely feel or remember a thing, and you will be up walking around in a hour. This is a huge advance over the way I had it done in the 80's, while awake. You'll be home shortly after you're up and around, and resume a normal day. The sleep test was more of an inconvenience than the endoscopy. --Steve
