I am 6 weeks post-op and have been reading the posts here for the past few weeks. They have helped alot! But I often read about various support groups being held around the state. Are any of these in the New Haven area? I do not have a car so I can not travel very far. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in adavance!

Christine, Dr. Bell's support group meets the first Tues. of every month at Yale New Haven Hospital in the Max Taffel room. Meeting starts at 6pm and lasts til approximately 7:30ish. I believe Yale is on a busline. Dr. Bell attends every meeting. This is for all folks pre-op, post-op or thinking about having surgery. All are welcome...doesn't matter who did/or will be doing your surgery. JA

Hi Christine, There is a support group in Hamden that meets the 1st & 3rd Mondays of the month. It meets @ 630 pm in the Miller Library/ Senior Center. It is for both pre-op & post op. It is not affiliated with any Dr's. All are welcome. Hopefully you can make it! Good luck, Kelly

Hey Christine, There is a wonderful group of people who get together the first and third monday of the month in Hamden. I have not had an opportunity to get there yet, but I have met some of the people and they are wonderful. Its more informal and everyone goes out afterwards. There are also various meetings at Yale NH and St Raphaels just go to the the Events Board and they are all listed. Congratulations on your journey to the losing side and welcome to the OH Family. If you ever need to talk don't hesitate to email me. Welcome. Hugs KimC
