I am just wondering about something here...Is everyone that had surgery happy with their choice of Doctor's? I ask because the office is getting overwhelmed with people coming for aftercare from other Doctors and in fact one Doctor has decided to close his practice and is referring all this patients here... So, with that said, are you happy? I can say as a patient I am still thrilled with my choice in Dr. Barba. Especially 2.5 years after the the fact. Jessica

I have Dr. Barba and he is great. His office is full of freaks though...they need to all get together and find a circus Just busting you Jess! I love you and Felix! You guys sure do make things easier. I did my research first, and Dr. B was the best guy I could find. His before and after care are the best I could find. I looked at those "other guys" who just leave you hanging after surgery. HELLO? If I could do this by myself I would have. But I can't. I need SUPPORT. Christine

Jessica: I am 100% satisfied with Dr. Bell. He is excellent and I would send anyone looking for a super doctor to him. His pre & post op care is second to none. He goes above and bryond the call of duty. I wish I could go to him for everything. This is a great question and I am awaiting more responses. I think pre & post care is so critical to a patients outcome. Chryssie

I am happy with Dr. Barba, no problems so far. Is there another Dr. besides Macatol who closed their practice?

Jessica, Like Chryssie, I had Dr. Bell, and there is not enough space here for me to tell you how happy I am with him. He "truly" cares about his patients. He follows you for the rest of your life after surgery, which a lot of doctors don't..they send you back to your primary doc. Dr. Bell is a "one in a million". He has skill, intelligence and personality! His bedside manner is unbelievable, and he honestly is concerned about each and every patient. He also attends every support group meeting and is available after the meeting to talk to anyone who needs to talk to him. I also want to mention that his office staff also attends the support group meetings too. So in answer to your question, a big YES for me! JA

I am very happy with Dr. Zucalla and his office staff. I found that they were very friendly. It's nice to know that when you go in the staff knows who you are and can identify with you. Two thumbs up!

Hi Jess, I have absolutely no regrets in choosing Dr. Barba as my surgeon/physician for my surgery. You & Felix are just MARVELOUS and are always so patient & KIND when I call in with questions or concerns. Dr. Barba was recommended by my primary physician when we discussed my getting the surgery & I never hesitated at all during my research and testing to look else where for another Dr. Dr. Barba was my first choice! Okay, well I am still pre-op but I chose Dr. Bell mainly because he does the laparoscopic bypass. I was extremely impressed when I finally met him and I immediately felt at ease and happy with my decision to pick him for a surgeon. I am however curious as to why anyone would have the open surgery if they could have it done laparoscopically. So If anyone wants to dish on why they chose a surgeon that mainly does the open procedure I'm a-listening .... ~Sue
