How do I know when I am full??
Hi all.....well today I started purees which means seperating foods and liquids which I will do my best to handle. I made a scrambled egg today, and about half way thru the 2 oz I felt "something" don't know exactly what it was. So I ate one more bite and KNEW I was done. I ended up eating only 1 oz of the 2 oz egg I am allowed. Is that feeling I felt my pouch saying that's enough?? And is it normal 2 weeks post op to not eat the whole 2 oz??? I am so afraid of dumping, or
that I am overly worried about everything. Someone please just tell me if I am reacting normally?? Reassurance would mean a lot so I dont get too afraid to eat!
Thanks!!!

Krista,
You are ohh so normal. and YES that feeling is a full feeling. You need to listen to your body telling you when you need to stop. You may not eat the full egg or full 2 oz of anything for quite some time. It would sometimes take me an hour or two to get a whole egg down. Just remember take it slow, chew, chew, chew..and listen to your body when it talks to you
Good Luck and enjoy the ride !!

Krista,
Give yourself some time, its still soon for you to eat alot, your still healing. Its ok if you don't eat the whole 2 ounces. It took me about a month to get use to the feeling of being full. There will be times you will feel it in your throat, that usually means it was too much.
Just eat very slowly and small amounts until you get use to what you can and can not have.
I am 4months and 2 weeks post op and I still have trouble with portions and things not agreeing with me. I get pains in my tummy once in awhile too. But thats just me.
You will be ok and you will do fine. Take care of yourself and keep up the good work.
Hugs
Kim

Hi Krista
Dont worry to eat all of the protein as much you can eat and feel full then stop or you will get sick from this. Eat slowly and take it easy! It will getting better each weekly as much you learn to eat and sip water.. I got sick if I eat fast or did not chew it well. You did the right thing to eat right foods. Take care

Totally normal! I know for me it was strange to have my body tell me when to stop eating. I was used to just eating until it was all gone. I wouldn't really worry about the amount, you're pouch is still a baby. It will take some time to be able to eat more. Just listen to your body. It will tell you when you need to eat and when you need to stop.
