Just joined and looking for support from anyone who is or has gone through the journey of surgery.  Would love to get information on the 1,000 cal diet.  I am scared to death with the endoscopy !!

Welcome and congrats on your surgery date! The 1000 calorie diet wasn't aweful for me because my doc said I could cheat a little and have soup or maybe a little salad every day (I am assuming you are talking about the pre-op liquid diet?). I just needed something to chew.

The endoscopy was fine. I was a little nervous too, but I actually got a kick over falling asleep in one room and waking up in another like nothing had happened. I thought it was funny.

Good Luck!

I didn't do a 1,000 cal diet. so I can't help you there. I have had 3 upper endoscopies this year alone! They are nothing to be nervous about. Worse thing is getting an IV.  Oh and the sore throat after the fact. Popsicles help with that. It's a very mild seditive so you are out but not loopy for the rest of the day. Ya can't drive or work but you are good to go for anything else. Good luck! It's really not that bad.
