Update on Adam Friedman
Hi, All!
Last night before the support group meeting I visited Adam Friedman who had his surgery yesterday. He's doing great! He was much more alert than I expected him to be and was proudly telling me how the pain wasn't so bad and how long he was able to go between pushes of the button on the pump for his pain meds. He'd already walked one lap and was planning to walk again as soon as they brought back the walker they'd borrowed from him for another patient to use. He was really looking forward to today when he could sip some water. I met his wife who's a real sweetheart and is a "bandster", so she should be good support for him. Speaking of support, Adam wasn't sure if he'd be up to going to the meeting next week and I reminded him that he's now a post-op and that some of the meetings (like next week's) are for pre-ops only, so that no longer includes him! The next meeting for post-ops at Middlesex is the monthly "post-op only" meeting on Tues., June 7th. At 3 weeks out by then, Adam's pretty sure he'll be there.
Debby
I'm home. Thank you Debby for your visit. It really helped. I'm pretty sore..but not outrageous.. I am having some trouble sleeping since I am so used to having my sleep apnea cpap on and not supposed to use it now. I just called the office to see about getting some oxygen so that I can feel more comfortable sleeping. I am pretty tired, but doing well. I'll try to update later.
