Surgery on Monday at Middlesex!
Adam- I'm sorry that this is too late to reach you before your surgery. However, I still wanted to send you my best wishes. You could not be in better hands w/ Dr. Aranow. He is simply the best. I know that all will go well for you and that you will emerge a new person, on his way to a better life!
Oh- the wonderful things that are waiting for you on the loosing side!!
I had Open RNY w/Dr A. on 11/18/02. I am, figuratively and literally, a poster child for Dr. A and this surgery. I could not be any happier with my results and my life today. I've lost over 170 lbs and gained so many things back in my life that I didn't even know were missing.
The first weeks were difficult in terms of healing and getting back in the game... The first months were tough in terms of coming to grips with what my new life was going to be like and learning to live without food as a focus, while still making sure my dietary needs are met.
I'm sure you'll do well. Please keep tapped into the support systems that aere available to you- both at Middlesex and here. They are an important tool for your success. Do be sure to keep us updated on how you are.
I hope to get a change to meet you in person one day! (I'm a Newington native)
Best wishes to you,
Lisa C
