Hello All, On April 28th, I began my new life with the help of Dr. Barba. I was in the hospital from Thursday to Sunday. Everyday, I had Dr. Barba and his posse', as my friend Mickey calls them, visit and check in with me. Everyone at the hospital was great! Nursing staff was very attentive to what I needed and the assistants were willing to help with everything. Great hospital stay. Anyway, I am now 8 days out. I am trying to get as much protein down during the day. I have been drinking ISOPURE everyday and water. I am looking forward to getting the green light for maybe a scrambled egg, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. The pain is really only on the incision sites not. Getting up from a lying down position, or sitting position is the toughest. Bending is not really happening. I choose to squat! Any way, I feel great and know that I am losing! THIS IS A GOOD DAY!!!

Hi Cindy, My follow-up with Dr. B went well...He was running a little late & I had to wait about an hour. However the wait was worth it! I lost 14 pounds since the surgery last week! I cried after my appointment I was SOOOOO EXCITED! Mark my husband couldn't believe it either! So my grand total is 24 lbs...10 on my own... I met Jessica today while we were waiting..she was great to talk to and had some honest information to share with me, she had the patience of a Saint answering my questions. Very open & honest. I go back in June for a follow-up and I can start phase 2 next week. Dr. B was pleased with my process...He's such a nice guy to talk to, I met his daughter today to briefly...what a cutie. I'm still concerned with my Lightheadedness but we're thinking I'm not getting enough fluid, and concentrating too hard on Protein, protein, protein. If I'm still feeling this way next week, Dr. B wants me to have some blood work done to see if I'm a little anemic. Hopefully it's just the after affects of surgery & my not drinking enough causing this. Today was such a MILESTONE..for me...I feel blessed to have a new beginning in life. Hugs, Mickey
